International Standard Book Number (ISBN)

International Standard Book Number or ISBN is recognized as a code of ten (10) or thirteen (13) points that cater to one title or edition of a book published by a particular publisher. ISBN derived from the International ISBN that is based on London.

National Library of Malaysia has been appointed as the National Center for ISBN in Malaysia from August 1982.

ISBN acquired shall be printed on the back of the title page and the back cover of the book.

or

ISBN 978-983-99557-1-2 – ISBN 13 digits (implementation from Januari 2007)

ISBN Application in IUKL

Prepare the copies of actual book cover and the copyright page. Submit those copies to the Engagement Librarian at Library Administrative Office for the next stage.

eISBN Application in IUKL

Enclose a copy of Certificate of Incorporation / certified copies of passport (individual), a copy of the actual book cover ebook version, a copy of the copyright page and print screen where ebooks are viewed or sold together with the URL.

Submit all of the copies to the Engagement Librarian at Library Administrative Office for the next stage.

International Standard Serial Number (ISSN)

International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) or better known as the ISSN is an eight-digit numbers that are universally accepted as a simple identification code, single and not misleading for each of serials published.

ISSN Application in IUKL

Prepare the copies of mock-up cover serials and editorial pages. Submit those copies to the Engagement Librarian at Library Administrative Office for the next stage.

eISSN Application in IUKL

Attach copies of the print screen of the front page and the editorial page of the homepage where publications are displayed along with the URL.

The hardcopy of the screen (screen prints) which contains the following criteria:

  1. Title screen
  2. Screen that contains a series of consecutive numbers (date or issue number)
  3. Any screen that provides general information about how to subscribe, frequency, publisher, copyright etc…

Submit all of the print screen (hard copy) to the Engagement Librarian at Library Administrative Office for the next stage.
